Frequently asked
How much does Kybella cost?
$400–$700 per vial. 2–4 vials per session, 2–4 sessions typical — total cost $1,600–$8,000 for full submental treatment.
Is Kybella permanent?
The destroyed fat cells don't return. Significant weight gain can enlarge surrounding (untreated) fat, but the treated area stays proportionally smaller permanently.
How bad is the swelling?
Dramatic — patients describe a 'bullfrog' look for 3–7 days. Plan to take time off social events and Zoom-heavy work after each session.
Kybella vs. CoolSculpting for double chin?
Comparable end results. Kybella is injection-based with severe initial swelling but no device cost; CoolSculpting CoolMini is cooling-based with less swelling but more equipment time. Provider preference varies.
Can Kybella tighten skin?
No — Kybella destroys fat. Modest skin tightening sometimes occurs as the fat layer thins, but significant skin laxity needs separate treatment (RF microneedling, Morpheus8) or surgery.
